My Father's Dragon
For the last few weeks we have been reading My Father's Dragon, by Ruth Stiles Gannett. Each day the students read a chapter and then summarized it in pictures and in words. At the end of the story, each student chose their favorite part to illustrate and share with you. Click on the links below to enjoy their hard work:

Original Flowers
A recent word wall assignment had us creating an original flower. The garden outside our classroom door is now in full bloom. Please take a look at each student's flower. It is clear they worked hard and had fun with this assignment.

Our Reading Memories
In class we have talked about some of our favorite reading memories. After our discussions we drew pictures of one of our favorite reading memories. We then described these memories in case you couldn't get all of the information from the pictures. Clicking on the link below will take you to a student page where you can link to each child's picture. They will tell you about their memory once you arrive:

Writer's Workshop
We have officially launched the Writer's Workshop. Each day the session starts with a mini-lesson focusing on a specific skill, and then the students head off to their desks to write. Right now we are establishing routines, brainstorming ideas, and writing furiously. Here we are in action:
